ZAFMSC History

Zion Church was first established in America in 1986 as Christian Catholic Church in Zion (CAAZ) by John Alexander Dowie. Bishop Byrant, a member of CAAZ, travelled to South Africa and baptized Reverend Petrus Le Roux and several Africans. In 1908, Reverend Le Roux formed the Zion Apostolic Church, which gained followers among Africans. Subsequently, in 1923, Bishop Mahlangu, formerly a member of ZAC, established ZAC of South Africa. In 1920, the Zion Apostolic Faith Mission Church was founded by Eduard Lion of Basutoland after separating from ZAC South Africa. Andreas Shoko and Samuel Mutendi migrated to South Africa as laborers and encountered Enginas Lekanyane, a member of ZAFMC under Eduard Lion. 

In 1985, the eldest son of Andreas Pedzisai assumed leadership of
the church following his father's passing. He imparted powerful and
wise teachings inherited from his father, extending his reach to
numerous provinces across Zimbabwe, and later expanding into
South Africa and Zambia
